According to Green Water Technologies, poor water quality has a major impact on residents of South Texas. There are a number of different environmental contaminants that affect water quality. Runoff from chemical plants and agricultural endeavors often affect the safety of drinking water. Even chemicals used in the treatment process can make water less palatable for humans. Another major concern, however, is hard, unconditioned water.
Green Water Technologies explains that hard water can have an extremely negative impact on a family’s hygiene routine. Hard water, though it’s technically safe according to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards, reduces the effectiveness of most cleansing agents. It makes it more difficult to wash soaps off the face which can lead to acne or other issues for those with sensitive skin.
